The wood treatment concept used in the OrganoWood™ products is unique. Not only do the technology give the treated wood protection against rot, but they also give the treated wood effective flame retardant properties. The technology has been developed with inspiration of the natural fossilization process in which organic material is slowly turned into minerals. Through the use of the OrganoClick®-technology for modification of biofibers, the speed of the fossilization process has been effectively increased. The silicon-based compounds used in the products are also strongly attached to the wood fibers so that the treated wood can be placed in wet outdoor environments with a very long durability of the wooden materials improved properties. OrganoWood's product family is being continuously developed for new applications and currently consists of three products; OW – exterior coating™, OW – interior coating™, and OW - impregnation™.
